Research associate of The Institute for Byzantine Studies of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, dr Marka Tomić, has been awarded the “Maria S. Theochari Award” by the Christian Archaeological Society (ΧΡΙΣΤΙΑΝΙΚΗ ΑΡΧΑΙΟΛΟΓΙΚΗ ΕΤΑΙΡΕΙΑ) from Athens for her book “The Frescoes of Marko’s Monastery”. This biennial award is granted for the best scientific study in the field of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine painting.
