Award-Winning Collective Monograph “Saint King Milutin: Ruler at the Crossroads of the Worlds”

The previous year was also marked by the awards given to the collective monograph “Saint King Milutin: Ruler at the Crossroads of the Worlds”. The monograph was published by the Endowment of the Holy Monastery of Hilandar. Besides Dr. Pirivatrić, a senior research associate of the Institute for Byzantine Studies and one of the volume’s editors, other associates of our Institute authored chapters in the collection: academicians Ljubomir Maksimović and Mirjana Živojinović, as well as senior research associates Dr. Predrag Komatina and Dr. Bojan Miljković. The new edited volume won the “Ilarion Ruvarac” History Award of Matica Srpska for the year 2022. The awarding ceremony was held on Thursday, December 7, 2023 in Matica Srpska and Dr. Srđan Pirivatrić delivered a speech on behalf of the editors. The monograph on the Saint King Milutin was also honoured with the “Vladimir Ćorović” award, presented at the Ćorović Conference for Writers and Historians in Gacko (Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina). During the ceremony on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the State Archives of Serbia and the Day of Archives in Serbia, it was awarded the “Annual Award of Djuradj I. Jelenić”.
