The third field research in the framework of the project From Barbarians to Christians and Rhomaioi. The Process of Byzantinization in the Central Balkans (late 10th – mid-13th century) was carried out between August 15th and 23rd with the support of the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, Program Ideas, Grant No. 7748349. The research included church monuments and fortresses relevant to the Middle Byzantine period (9th-13th century) in the area of Veles, Prilep and Bitola. In addition the project team inspected early Byzantine archaeological sites with activity confirmed in the medieval period and visited Museums in Bitola and Veles, and the Institute for Old Slavic Culture in Prilep.
